What the source supports
TechCrunch reported on 18 Jun 2025 that Maor Shlomo sold Base44 to Wix for $80 million, and that Wix confirmed the deal was cash. Wix also confirmed Shlomo was not solo: eight employees collectively receive $25 million of the $80 million as a retention bonus.
The same article says that, according to Shlomo’s own posts, Base44 generated $189,000 in profit in May. That profit line is his posts, not a figure TechCrunch says it confirmed, so it is not the number in the figure cell.
Shlomo had posted about using Anthropic’s Claude through AWS rather than OpenAI models. A later Ctech report (20 Aug 2026) quotes him writing “We just blew past $200M ARR at Base44,” and says Wix disclosed another $41 million after further milestones, putting his total proceeds above $150 million. Those later figures are a separate report. The payment-checked badge on this row is the $80 million cash confirmation Wix gave TechCrunch.
